Do you call yourself a feminist? Why/Why Not?

I do. I do because I try and speak for the rights of both men and women, for the fair treatment of individuals, and for everyone to have the right to choose for themselves. Pedro/Male/20/Mexico

I consider myself to be a Human Rights Activist. I think there is a negative connotation with the word feminism that sucks, but it is just the reality of it all. I believe in the right to your own body, I believe in equality and more importantly accessibility and equal opportunity, I don't believe in hate speech, and I wholeheartedly believe in women's rights. Hell yes I'm a feminist, because I'm a female and I obviously believe in giving myself equal rights. Madeline/Female/17/Australia

Yes I'm a feminist, because everyone deserves equality and the amount of sexism in the world is ridiculous. Oliver/Male/16/Australia

I do identify as a feminist, mostly because I see no reason to not be one. Feminism is the fight for equality across genders, the only reason to oppose that would be because you don’t believe all genders are equal. Harmon/Male/20/USA

I'm not a feminist because I simply don't get into politics that much. Emma/Evan/Genderfluid/19/USA

I do call myself a feminist, even though these days there’s often a negative connotation that comes along with that word. I am proud to be able to say that I believe in equal rights for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or anything else. I shouldn’t have to call myself something else just because some mishear the word ‘feminist’ and instead hear ‘misandrist’ or ‘man-hater’. I am neither of those things, and shouldn’t have to explain that. Sarah/Female/20/Australia
